Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is a highly sought-after and highly rated bourbon whiskey. It is part of the Elmer T. Lee lineup, which is known for its rich, complex, and well-balanced flavor profile.
History
Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that is aged for a minimum of 8 years. The bourbon is made using Buffalo Trace’s #2 mashbill, which is a high rye (~15%) mashbill. This gives the bourbon a spicy, complex flavor profile. The bourbon is bottled at 90 proof, which is uncut and non-chill filtered.
Tasting Notes
The bourbon has a sophisticated aroma with notes of fresh baked bread, cream soda, soft oak, and touches of coconut and cinnamon. The palate is elegant and refined, with flavors of strawberry sweetness, soft aged oak, cigar leaf, light brown sugar, and fruit cake. The finish is dry and a bit astringent at moments, but it slowly opens up and offers a gentle red fruit aftertaste.

Information
Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is a highly sought-after bourbon due to its well-balanced flavor profile and affordability. It is a great addition to any bourbon collection and is perfect for everyday drinking.
According to [3], Elmer T. Lee was one of the great Master Distillers of Buffalo Trace for 36 years, before retiring in 1985 and passing in 2013. As the pioneer of mass-produced single barrel bourbons, Elmer was responsible for bringing the first mass-produced single barrel for consumers, also known as Blanton’s, to market and was eventually honored by Buffalo Trace with his own single barrel bourbon.
According to [5], the bourbon offers a sublime bouquet of rich vanilla, warm caramel, and a hint of sweet honey. Each sip reveals a symphony of flavors—spicy cinnamon, robust oak, and a touch of dark chocolate—culminating in a smooth, lingering finish.
